![]() For me, the difference in the engines is enough to justify this price hike, 'cause I do like me some big engines, and that puts the Raider over the top in my book. Yeah, the Raider certainly has its merits, but it also comes with a $15,199 MSRP, a bit of a jump from the $11,199 tag on the Boulevard. Suzuki regains some juice when we consider the stickers. At the risk of sounding indelicate, I certainly feel this engine below the belt. This was the largest production V-twin in America up to this year, and shows an understanding of what drives our passions. Yamaha ramps up the pressure with a truly gargantuan, 1,854 cc lump. B/c I have an 2005 R1, my only flash option is Ivan's Performance Products which last I checked was about 350.00. The jerky feel is gone and the ignition timing is advanced (runs cooler, more efficient, pollutes a little more) which are all I really cared about. I run the airbox, a slip-on and Ivan's first flash with no complaints. The Power Commander V is a unique EFI tuning device because it can monitor and maintain your air/fuel ratio without directly changing the ECU. The stock Bolt runs rich which is not necessarily a bad thing for an air-cooled bike. With the stock airbox and ECU, you can get more power by adding a Power Commander 5 fuel controller to lean it out. The second version adds fuel up top for running an open filter.
